The Mount Kenya Epik Challenge is a stage race.
Created by two of the very best Kenyan Athletes; long distance runner Douglas Wakiihuri and cyclist David Kinja; that will transverse the foothills of Mount Kenya. Mt. Kenya Epik 2017, scheduled to take place from Saturday 28th October to Tuesday 31st October 2017.

Africa Extreme will continue to work in partnership with the Safari Simbaz in our quest to meet these objectives and to develop “champions both on and off the bike.”
The organisers of the Mt Kenya Epik will work together with the Safari Simbaz to establish programmes aimed at developing cycling at the grassroots level in the counties through which the Mt Kenya Epik traverses.

In light of our efforts to develop cycling, we will this year be hosting the first:
This will be held at Naro Moru River Lodge immediately prior to the Naro Moru Trail Trial culminating in the race day on 26th August 2017.
The three and a half day residential workshop has been designed to equip the upcoming riders with both professional riding skills and soft skills to enhance their ability to be successful cycling professionals and to empower these youth to be able to sustain a living from the sport as professionals, as trainers, as mechanics or as qualified tour leaders.
